Steve has been working so much lately and extra nights and days.  He has the responsibility of the church building every night and cleaning it twice a week this month.  I thought I would help him in the yard and garage on my day off.  Actually, I thought I would do the "honey dos" he never has time fore.
I got up early on Sat. morning and got my house work done, the bills paid and all the other stuff I normally do on sat.  I ran errands, laundry, groceries, bathrooms, floors, kitchen, vacuuming, dusted and polished and then went outside.  I turned the garden, blew out the garage, detailed the car, climbed ladders and changed the bulbs in the 4 lanterns and cleaned and polished them. Climbed another ladder and changed the garage door opener.  Picked up blowing leaves and garbage... etc.  etc.  All was fine, until time to go to the soccer game.  My back said "no way, I am done"! I wanted to lay down and take lots of drugs and go to sleep.   Instead I went to the soccer game and ended up walking a mile to get to my seat. Half way there,  my back and leg gave out completely.  Dallin had to hold me up in spite of his crippled ankle and literally hold my weight until I could be seated. Tears were streaming down my face.
If I could go back 30 years and know what I know today, I would never, never have a baby without drugs. Never have a posterior baby 4 times over without a C section and drugs. Never pack and move 15 times almost by myself, never get in car wrecks, get thrown from horses and never pick up more than one baby at a time and no babies weighing more than 15 lbs. Mostly, I would never, ever have back surgery again. If I could go back to Saturday... I would have stayed in bed.  Word to the youth.  Protect your back now!
