Last Sunday was the first annual "Moulton family garage dinner". We had planned to BBQ outside on the patio but the weather was just too hot. Since we had installed an industrial swamp cooler this summer, Steve and I came up with the great idea to clear out the garage and set up tables and have the dinner in the garage. It was a success. The swamp cooler kept everyone cool and the mess was easy to clean up. We even had a broken glass without a sweat. The kids painted at their tables with paint and water... not problem.
Sarah made bags of toys for the kids with paint, markers, bubbles, and so much more. Lauren M. made the most delicious desserts. My favorite orange chocolate cake and a very special fruit dessert. Then Lauren washed all the dishes after! I totally love her! Everyone helped with the cleanup. The boys strung lights above the tables and did the cleanup in the garage. Jess made Dad's favorite potato salad and carted it all the way from Lewiston.
Ashley made a beautiful veg tray, Caroline did a fruit salad and Scotty made a great salad. Everyone had a part in the dinner which made the entire day special. Lauren H. created the family bingo game which gave us a "catch up" on everyone's life.
Before the dinner, those that could, came to our sacrament meeting. Ashley, Caroline, Lauren and I sang "Consider the Lillys" (our standard). It meant a great deal to Dad and myself.
Ariel, Adam, Charlotte and baby Grey (soon to come into the world) were not able to come to Utah due to the late stage of pregnancy and Adam's hard work at the office. Hopefully they will come for Christmas and we can have a new family picture taken.
This day was wonderful! We are looking forward to many more "garage family and friends dinner". Enjoy!
